Try not to touch your face throughout the day. Make sure your hair is kept off your face as well.
After you wash your face, try using a Qtip and dropping some tea tree oil on the tip (do NOT dip the Qtip in the oil, put the oil on the Qtip). Then a product I really love is Peter Thomas Roth's Sulfur Cooling Mask (available at Sephora). After the tea tree oil is dry, apply the mask only to the affected area. Let it dry and wash it off and you can either go to sleep or do it again until it dries.
Another great tip I got from someone is to wash your make up brushes fairly regularly (once every 2 weeks or once a month) and every time you use a make up sponge, use a different one. Do not re-use the same make up sponge.
